ABOUT JAMES FAHY DESIGN

James Fahy Design is a full service design firm providing consulting and principle design services in the residential and light commercial industries.

The firm is headed by James R. Fahy P.E., President and Douglas R. Bennett, Senior Designer. The firm presently employs 15 people, including architects, engineers, designers, and administrative staff. Since our beginning in 1962, our national award-winning Residential Design Division has served builders, developers, and homeowners in over 10,000 single family, and 75 multi-family projects across the United States and abroad. In that same time, our Commercial Design Division has served clients in over 200 commercial projects, including retail centers, manufacturing and warehouse facilities, restaurants, and professional buildings.

DESIGN SERVICES

Residential Design:
Our Residential Design Team is comprised of both custom and portfolio plan design studios. We provide custom design services for over 400 projects each year. One of these design was honored with the 1998 Best in American Living Award (BALA) for one-of-a-kind custom, single-family design over 4,000 square feet.

Our commitment to fresh, innovative and state-of-the-art design provides focus to our residential plan service group and portfolio design studio. We are currently working on our ninth portfolio of homes in our "Creative Home Designs" series. To date our portfolios include over 400 plans featuring a diversity of open, flowing floor plans with classic, transitional, and contemporary exteriors. Designs range from 1,000 square-foot starter homes to over 4,000 square-foot custom luxury homes.

In addition to our in-house books, we have partnered with Professional Builder Magazine in publishing a portfolio of narrow and zero lot line homes and a collection of duplex and multi-family plans. Our in-house plans are marketed nationally through Professional Builder, Home Design Alternatives, Garlinghouse, Home Planners, Best Selling Home Plans, and Country Living Magazines. Customization services for all our plans are available upon request.

Commercial Design:
Our Commercial Design Team was initially formed to better serve our residential builder and developer clients as they expanded into other areas of construction. The continued growth of the firm has seen us gain a reputation for providing the same quality service to commercial clients that made us successful in the residential design industry. 

Our goal is to provide every client with the most responsive and innovative professional design services available. We give all projects the same careful attention to detail and are committed to meeting client needs, project budgets, and construction schedules. We strive to assure that each design solution exceeds expectations and reflects the creative quality associated with James Fahy Design.
